Since the 1970s when it was established, the Concord Clergy Laity Group has been the primary interfaith gathering in our town. It has provided the collective religious voice for matters of common interest and communal concern, and it has offered networking for member congregations and institutions. Additionally, the Concord Clergy Laity Group provides for the annual Community Thanksgiving Service along with occasional educational forums; it supports the CROP Hunger Walk and, through its members, partners with other groups, organizations, and civic entities in engaging in a host of local initiatives to serve the common good. The Concord Clergy Laity Group maintains an Emergency Fund for short-term needs on a limited basis. In the current year, it is publishing “Green Notes for God’s People,” an occasional newsletter featuring articles, information, and resources dedicated to promoting environmental sustainability and practicing faithful stewardship globally and locally.
The Concord Clergy Laity Group includes: the First Parish Church, Holy Family Parish, New Life Community Church,Trinitarian Congressional Church, Congregation Karem Shalom, New England Deaconess, West Concord Union Church, First Church of Christ, Scientist, Redeemer Church, New Church of Concord, Baha’i Faith, and Trinity Episcopal Church.
