Come Back in Time with Us!

The Drinking Gourd Project invites you to come back in time with us! May 17th from 3-4:30, First Parish Church, 20 Lexington Rd. Concord, MA ** Followed by a guided walking tour of Walden Woods lead by Elise Lemire

Africans, Abolitionist and the Women of Concord, 17th-19th Century. A walk through lost history, unearthing stories of “ordinary people” who lead ordinary and heroic lives in Concord, 17th-19th Century.

Keynote speaker: Elise Lemire Author of newly released Black Walden: Slavery and Its Aftermath in Concord Massachusetts.

Other guests include, Fredrick Douglas, Harriet Tubman, Louisa May Alcott, Mary Merrick Brooks, and Henry David Thoreau. Recommended for ages 8 and through 108.
